Lucien Smith will launch his first NFT project in a new series of 10,000 digital artworks, titled SEEDS. The series takes its name from the eponymous seed packets that are widely available at home department stores.
The New York-based artist and filmmaker has imbued each with over 40 possible traits, including color palette, seed type, and more. While every SEED is one of a kind based on its combination of traits, some are rarer than others. For those who look to purchase, SEEDS is randomly generated upon minting, but specific artworks will be available via OpenSea through the respective holders.
Proceeds of SEEDS will help to power Smith’s non-profit, Serving the People, which aims to provide accessibility to the arts for young and established artists alike, encouraging experimentation and expanding means of creative expression. The presale minting for SEEDS starts tonight at 7pm EST on Lobus with a base price of .1 ETH / $370 USD.
In other art news, Alex Katz’s verdant paintings fill the halls of Thaddaeus Ropac Seoul.
