Women-led crypto analytics platform Defy Trends raves over Cristóbal Balenciaga NFT drop – Cointelegraph

The old Estée Lauder adage goes, “I never dreamed of success, I worked for it.” That is exactly what the women thought-leaders at the helm of Defy Trends did when they pioneered a platform that simplified ways to make crypto investment decisions. Allowing its users to spend more time on informed investing and less time on arduous researching, Defy Trends also serves as a launchpad for community uplift, and more specifically getting more women to participate in crypto.

Women empowerment is at the heart of Defy Trends’ work. That is why it launched the Women Who Defy ambassador program, which empowers women to learn about emerging technologies to achieve long-term financial goals. In recent weeks, Defy Trends signed on as a strategic partner to the Cristóbal Balenciaga: To the Moon NFT drop, which aims to set the standard for NFT fashion through community building, inclusivity and empowerment.

On May 7, Defy Trends hosted a stunning brunch titled “NFTs and Mimosas” at the Freehold Lounge in Wynwood, Miami. It was the first in a series of events focusing on the Cristóbal Balenciaga: To the Moon NFT drop, NFTs more broadly and women in crypto. The event was sponsored by other collaborators on the upscale drop, including Cointelegraph, ArtConsulting.com, Artvein.net, and Animal Concerts.

NFTs and women to the moon

Going beyond crypto and NFT education, Defy Trends also presented a big opportunity for those attending to receive a whitelist spot for the upcoming Cristóbal Balenciaga: To the Moon NFT drop.

This limited drop is set to launch on Crypto.com NFT and is inspired by Lorenzo Riva’s never-before-seen collection of 8,000 drawings carefully crafted by Cristóbal Balenciaga during the height of the couture movement.

In honor of Cristóbal Balenciaga and the women he designed for, this drop will feature a plethora of redeemables, such as designer gear, gift cards to high-end designer brands, digital metaverse wearables, and even the 70-year-old drawings by Cristóbal.

Alongside the sensational rewards, redeemables and post-drop incentives this NFT collection will bring, intentional focus on affordability, utility, community and longevity is also core to the mission of the project.

A prestigious panel

To honor this prestigious NFT project, Women Who Defy invited top-tier panelists to speak at the brunch event, including “The Queen of Clubhouse” Swan Sit, a crypto leader and marketing mogul with 3.6M followers; Ariana the Techie, a Web3 software engineer and CEO of Mueshi; and Luli Sulichin, a brilliant NFT conceptual visual artist. All three women have broken barriers and shattered ceilings in the male-dominated market of Web3, providing leadership, insight and inspiration to countless women in the space.

The event and speakers took a granular dive into the upcoming To the Moon drop by focusing on its unique metaverse applications, opportunities for whitelist spots and irresistible redeemables. Moreover, Women Who Defy gave the audience opportunities to participate in conversations around NFTs, NFT applications and NFT communities.

At the height of the event, the panelists broke down some jarring disparities that exist within the NFT and crypto community. Here are just some of those statistics:

  • Only 5% to 15% of current NFT art accounts are run by women.

  • According to ArtTactic, women account for only 16% of the NFT art market.

  • Roughly 19% of women ages 18-29 say they have invested in, traded or utilized crypto, compared to 43% of similarly aged men.

The Women Who Defy ambassador program represents a shining example of how Defy Trends is working to close the gender gap in Web3.

Power to the women

With more women joining the Web3 movement by the day, Defy Trends has positioned itself as a crucial asset for the community. With resources, solutions and even its own token, Defy Trends provides a one-stop-shop platform for all things related to crypto investments.
