The professional football team and English Premier League Club, Manchester United, have been accused of NFT infringement just a few weeks after launching its NFT collection. The soccer team partnered with Tezos Foundation to launch its new NFT collection.
Crypto Investor Accuses Man Utd Of Copying His NFT Artworks
Crypto investor and NFT artist Lucréce has accused Manchester United of plagiarizing his artworks. The NFT artist recently wrote a letter to Arthur Breitman, the co-founder of Tezos, seeking an explanation from Manchester United on why its newly launched NFTs looked similar to his.
Update: I’ve talked to @ArthurB and now waiting to start correspondence with ManU.

Although Lucréce didn’t directly accuse Tezos and Manchester United of plagiarizing his artwork in his letter, he backed his allegations with some opinions he received from his social media fans and crypto users.
Tezos Foundation and Manchester United launched their NFT collection last month, which sold out immediately after the release. The NFT collection featured a limited edition of 7,777 NFTs, each selling at $40. Lucréce’s NFT collections are a bit older and have higher value, each trading at 21 ETH ($24,919).
Manchester United And Lucréce Settle Their Disputes
In a December 29 blog post, Lucréce confirmed that he finally received a response from the Manchester United club, stating that the club had not contacted him due to the Christmas holidays.
Update: correspondence between me and ManU has started. Had a productive call with them just now. Probably the last update on this for a while since everyone is still on holiday.
In times of adversity, you’ll know who your friends are. Thank you, tezos community.

In the subsequent tweet, Lucréce thanked the Tezos community alongside his followers for their support. On the other hand, many of his followers have expressed their joy for the club’s response, applauding how the artist politely handled the case.
In the meantime, Lucréce hopes to strike a new deal with the Red Devils, benefiting both parties. The NFT artist jokingly suggested having dinner with Iconic football star Cristiano Ronaldo as part of his demands.
